Today we went to a wetland.
I learned about the Red Winged Black Bird his call is a "chirp" and his other call is a very high "chi-rp"
I think that the wetland is a fun and pretty place because their are lots of bugs, animals and plants.

Today I made cake it was half chocolate and half vanilla.
I made a cake because I wanted to decorate a real one.
I learned that cakes may look done but some times when you get the cake out of the oven they cave in.
I KNOW that cakes look, smell, feel,(the word "cake") sounds and taste GREAT!

Today we did backyard science.
We made a bird feeder with bird seed, oatmeal, raisins, apple slices, melted shortening and whole wheat.
I learned that birds can starve at winter time.
I think that winter isn't birds' favorite season.

Yesterday I sewed girl guide badges on my sash, mum read us roman myths.
One myth was about an old married couple who were poor, one day some visitors came, one of them was Jupiter and the other was Mercury. They were disguised as peasants. The old woman went to get her only goose who was more like a pet than a farm animal. They wanted to feed there guests. that goose saw Jupiter and recognized him she jumped on to him and asked him to protect her. Jupiter took off his disguise and said that he liked to travel but he never met such good people
as them and he would make them something he made there house into a temple and the old couple were the priest and priestess the people who came didn't just bring sacrifices they brought meals for the priest and priestess but they got tired and old it was time for the old couple to rest in peace so Jupiter turned them in to trees an oak and and the other a linden. That's where the goose sits and cleans her feathers.
I like that story because it has a happy ending.

Write Up
Two days ago I watched a movie about land formation.
I learned that old mountains are smaller than new mountains because the ran and snow make a bit of the mountain get washed away.
I am glad that land formation happens slowly because if it didn't the ground would be going up, down and all over the place!
